Matt Rife, an internationally-acclaimed comedian known for his flirtatious stage presence and predominantly female audience. His Netflix special Natural Selection debuted on November 20,23.

As part of his opening joke for this special, he joked about domestic violence – an offensive topic which caused two shows in Indiana to be cancelled.

He’s a comedian

Matt Rife, 28, is an internationally known comedian who gained notoriety on TikTok and Instagram. Beginning his stand-up comedy career at 15 and touring worldwide ever since. Since then he has released several specials, such as Natural Selection on Netflix; which caused controversy for featuring jokes about domestic violence against women.

This controversial joke has caused much discussion within the comedy community and many have voiced concerns over its presentation; nonetheless, Netflix still lists this special among their top 10 most-watched specials.

Rife unexpectedly cancelled his shows at Chicago Theatre and Ryman Auditorium in Nashville due to an undisclosed medical emergency, much to the dismay of fans looking forward to witnessing him live. Rife later apologized and promised reschedules sometime soon; in addition, he is working on creating a workplace sitcom series for Netflix.

Beginning his comedy career at age 15, Matt has toured all across America alongside well-known performers like DL Hughley, Ralphie May, Dane Cook and Tommy Davidson as a performer and writer – as well as being featured in several movies!

Cancellations came following significant backlash towards comedian’s joke about domestic violence that appeared in his Netflix special Natural Selection and which caused outrage among female fans who felt that she had betrayed their trust by making such an offensive joke. It is still unknown if or when he will return to performing live.
