Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will clash for the ultimate summer boxing bout this July at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, with plans for it to be streamed live via Netflix. It could draw as many as 80,000 spectators, nearly half the capacity of AT&T Stadium. Tyson boasts an immense following while Paul, 27 years old at this point, has only just made his professional debut and already holds an 8-1 record with six knockout wins since making his professional debut two years prior to Tyson.
Though this fight won’t alter either fighter’s status as superstars, it will mark an important step forward for both. Tyson hasn’t had a non-exhibition bout since an eight-round bout against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020; on March 19, he will turn 57 years old.
Paul, who has become one of the more controversial figures in combat sports, is looking to establish himself as a legitimate boxer by fighting experienced opponents with strong records. While Paul started off by beating up on older MMA fighters seeking paydays, his opponents include top names like Anderson Silva and Ben Askren.
As boxing continues to develop, promoters and networks increasingly turn to celebrity partnerships as an attempt to draw audiences to their events. While some pairings have proven controversial, most have proven effective at drawing viewers and revenue to these shows.
Early this year, Tyson signed on as both an investor and adviser for MVP, an innovative streaming platform founded by Nakisa Bidarian (former ring announcer), which provides fans with premium experience by offering more in-depth coverage and pay-per-view options than traditional broadcasts.
Paul and Tyson will have one of the year’s biggest fights when they square off against one another in 2024. Paul is an obvious draw and this fight should prove immensely profitable for both parties involved.
But the question now is whether Tyson can actually pull off the win. No doubt about it: Tyson possesses incredible power; an all-time great with victories over legendary heavyweights like Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks, for instance. However, will that power be enough to stop Paul who has trained hard in anticipation of this fight? If that proves unsuccessful then the event may not come off at all – but one thing’s for certain – an unforgettable fight awaits us this Saturday and stay tuned all week for updates and odds surrounding this historic event!
