Adele Laurie Blue Adkins

  • by

Adele has become one of the biggest brands in entertainment. She has released four albums (19, 21, 25 and 30) that each sold millions of copies worldwide.

She’s known for her ability to strike an emotional chord with audiences. Her music explores universal themes like heartbreak, love and self-discovery.

She was born in Tottenham

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins was born in Tottenham and is an English singer-songwriter and actress. She rose to fame after performing on Saturday Night Live; her second album 25, released the same year broke records both domestically and abroad. Additionally, Adele wrote the theme song for James Bond film Skyfall (written under her real name Adele Laurie Blue Adkins), drawing influences from Etta James and Beyonce among others.

Adele has experienced an unprecedented journey to stardom since her rise from working-class beginnings in London’s suburbs to international superstardom. Her story is an inspiring one: an artist from an unlikely background rising from poverty to become one of the biggest music superstars ever known to man, winning over millions of fans and admirers worldwide.

Adele is an accomplished businesswoman as well as an acclaimed musician, serving as hands-on chief executive of her multimillion pound international brand and working closely with Carl Fysh of Purple PR and Richard Russell at XL Recordings as PR experts.

She moved to Brixton

Adele has a strong commitment to her community, supporting numerous charities including Sands Charity – which provides support for parents who have lost children – as well as political activism; she’s an active Labour Party member and has spoken out against sexual assault while criticizing Donald Trump’s comments about women.

Adele is not only a successful musician but she is also the CEO of her multi-million pound international brand. As such, she takes the business side of her career very seriously, which may explain why she seems less flamboyant in videos and interviews compared to Amy Winehouse. Recently in an interview with Vogue she mentioned making her American mansion look like an English cottage to pay homage to London roots; also placing a Tottenham tube sign prominently displayed as a constant reminder to fans that she doesn’t forget where she came from.

She started singing at a young age

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins discovered her passion for singing at an early age and made it her career path. Raised in Tottenham before later moving to Brixton and West Norwood, Adele attended state-sponsored BRIT School where she developed her talents further before performing locally at local venues; eventually her demo caught the attention of XL Recordings who made Adele one of their headline acts.

Adele’s debut album 19, was both critical and commercial success. Breaking several sales records, it earned comparisons with Amy Winehouse (another British singer with soul influences). Adele became beloved to many thanks to her signature smooth vocal phrasing, tasteful arrangements and emotive emotive experiences which became icons.

Her sophomore effort, 21 was an introspective album about her breakup from an ex-partner. She used gospel influences on this album while producer Danger Mouse added hip-hop beats for an eclectic sound. 21 became one of the year’s best-selling records and won six Grammys.

She became a superstar

Adele was one of the most beloved pop performers of her generation. Following the release of her debut album 19 and winning her a Best New Artist Grammy, she broke through to American audiences via an appearance on “SNL”. Chasing Pavements raced up iTunes charts before even the show had ended causing an unprecedented rush of downloads and CD sales.

Adele wasn’t completely successful though. Just as she was building up an audience in America, Adele experienced a sudden and unpleasant throat issue; she experienced what seemed to be like “an electrical switch being switched” before losing her voice completely.

As it turned out, she soon got back on track with Max Martin as her producer on her second album: 25. Now exploring more genres while adding maximalist pop production techniques to her bluesy tone, the result was an album full of sonically dense songs that left listeners wowed.
