Dangerous: The Double Album by Morgan Wallen

Wallen has established himself as one of the hottest young stars in country music. However, like any artist under scrutiny he is sometimes embroiled in offstage drama.

Sneedville native Brian Osborn’s career has been both eventful and controversial, making headlines both positively and negatively throughout. Here are the major incidents that made headlines throughout his career.

1. One Thing at a Time

After an incredible week for country music, Wallen’s song “Last Night” claimed the number one position on Billboard Hot 100 chart. Additionally, this 29-year old from Sneedville Tennessee scored four top 10 hits: “You Proof,” “Thinkin’ Bout Me,” “Thought You Should Know,” and his album‘s title track.

Wallen stands out among country stardom by remaining far more authentic and approachable than many of his counterparts, who tend to keep things tidy both inside and outside the studio. Fans have taken notice of his unassuming, honest approach as evidenced in this song which strikes an appealing balance between fun and meaningful lyrics.

2. Dangerous: The Double Album

Dangerous: The Double Album may feel overlong at times, yet Wallen proves he isn’t content to simply repeat Nashville cliches; rather he can incorporate country, rock and pop styles in an unconventional package.

Wallen displays a whiskey-scorched drawl similar to Chris Stapleton’s and sings songs about beer, bars, bartenders, heartbreak and heartwarming moments in songs such as “Beer Don’t” and the title track; yet can also sing upbeat ballads about having your first rodeo-themed birthday party for your child (“My 1st Rodeo”). His voice can handle it all!

3. One Night at a Time World Tour

At his “superstar arrival as a touring artist” (Billboard), the CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee embarked on his 57-show One Night at a Time World Tour between 2022-2023. Boasting an array of chart-toppers in every show, these performances were packed and already extended through 2024!

He created an electric atmosphere during every show he performed, engaging fans by making them laugh and sing along. Additionally, his tour donated $3 from every ticket sold within the United States to local causes and organizations in need.

4. The Way I Talk

Wallen made an immediate impactful statement on country radio with his debut single, and promptly signed with Big Loud Records, who released his debut album that same year as an opening act on Florida Georgia Line’s Dig Your Roots Tour.

The Way I Talk, written and performed by Sneedville native Sarah Davis of Tennessee, features her charming examination of rural speech patterns. This song reached No. 30 on country airplay charts before rising into the top 40 overall genre charts.

Miranda Lambert and Nicolle Galyon, two of country music‘s premier female artists, collaborated on its composition. Galyon has previously written songs for Dan + Shay and Keith Urban.

5. More Than My Hometown

Morgan Wallen finds himself torn between two loves on this passionate new midtempo track from his upcoming second album. His gravelly voice conveys the internal conflict of an intimate hometown love who wants to follow her dreams away from home.

On April 7, 2024, Wallen was arrested for allegedly throwing a chair off of Nashville’s Chief’s bar roof. Later on that same evening he made light of this incident during a Saturday Night Live sketch with Jason Bateman and Bowen Yang.

Country star Hunter Hayes has much going for him, including several chart-topping singles and his sold-out One Night at a Time World Tour. Additionally, he’s proudly raising son Indigo Wilder.

6. 7 Summers

Wallen stands out among male country artists by making his voice distinctive with its raspy tone and intimate lyrics. Co-writing most of his tracks, his approachable songs feature conversational language for maximum resonance.

One of the brightest stars today, but also someone who understands how to handle fame. Nominated twice at this year’s Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards as Entertainer and Male Artist of the Year respectively.

“7 Summers”, composed by Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, finds its singer remembering an unbreakable romance. With its sunset country soundscape, layer guitars, and emotive daydreamy vocal, “7 Summers” serves as an ode to regrets that can never go away.

7. Whiskey Glasses

Morgan Wallen has long been one of the biggest country artists around, but has also been at the center of much debate. However, this week his latest album debuted to record streams and sales figures; proof that fans still hunger for big country.

Wallen is known for his remarkable vocal talents; his voice combines crooner range with light rasp to produce effortless emotion and effortless emoting. Shakira called Wallen’s audition on The Voice as being “manly as it gets”, and that description certainly applies to his music as well.

This whiskey glass is known as a Glencairn, similar to a snifter but with a heavier base for stability. The Glencairn funnels aromas directly towards your nose for optimal sipping experience.
